The interview: HighwaysIndustry.Com catches up with BT-HS as company turns 5 years old

BT-HS has been building and converting a variety of specialist vehicles for the traffic management and highways sector for the past five years.

April 28th sees BT-HS turn 5 years old, and in celebration of this milestone, HighwaysIndustry.Com’s General Manager, Matt Lambert, met with BT-HS MD Phil Glaiser to discuss a range of topics from the challenges of the last 5 years to where the company is heading in the next five.

HighwaysIndustry.Com is a branding and marketing specialist for the highways sector in the UK, with the largest dedicated online platform for highways related news. With their finger on the pulse of the industry, they were the perfect partner for BT-HS to reflect on their journey so far and share their plans for the future.

During the interview, Phil shared insights into the challenges and achievements that BT-HS has experienced during its first five years. One very unique challenge for BT-HS, was the Covid-19 Pandemic striking the world around 18 months into the company’s existence. The start-up phase of any business is a well-known challenge, with around 90% of start-ups failing according to one statistic, with 10% of those failing within the first year. And this without a global economic crisis.

Despite this challenge, it’s five years on and BT-HS has managed to make a significant impact on the highways and traffic management sector. The company’s dedication to producing safe, high-quality specialist vehicles has seen them become a trusted partner for many. As a result, the company has been able to grow their business steadily and develop strong relationships with customers across the country.

During the interview, Phil also shared his thoughts on what the future holds for BT-HS. He discussed the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and their plans to continue developing new products and services that will help to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability on UK highways.

Watch the video above to see what else Phil had to say about BT-HS, his approach to management, the industry and the issues it faces as a whole in the future.
